Story
Robin Gutierrez and his wife live on Finca Peña Roja with their son and daughter. Finca Peña Roja is nestled on some of the steepest inclines in the entire Agua Dulce area and is comprised of three micro lots at various elevations on the property; Capulines, La Reforma, and Los Claveles. Los Claveles mean “Carnation” and its namesake is due to the carnations planted in and around the microlot. Carnation blooms reminded Robin of the fleeting beauty of the coffee flower and what that symbolizes for the harvest. Finca Peña Roja is a neighboring farm to Finca Vista Hermosa (Edwin Martinez’s farm) and the families have been close friends for generations.
